In our society, there are many contradictory attitudes towards the pursuit of personal beauty. For some, outer appearance is condidered unimportant or even downright deceitful. For others, one’s appearance has the utmost importance, sometimes even to the point of obsession.
In these pages, I would like to take a different path from either of the above ways of approaching the notion of personal beauty. I call it “beauty from the inside out”.
What this means to me is that everyone can be beautiful, because the first requirement is not fitting into some pre-defined mold, but seeing yourself as equal to others no matter what the shape of your nose is.
It means accepting your physical self as you are and doing your best to make the most of it.
It means that everything we do – our way of dressing, our care (or lack of care) for our skin, hair, teeth, etc, our posture, our gestures – all of these are expressions of our inner attitude towards ourselves and others.
Kind of scary, really, except that most people are so concerned about how they’re coming across that they don’t stop to analyze you, at least not consciously.
If you look at the categories of this blog, you might find that health, or fitness, or inner attutude are off-subject, but they are all intertwined and very relevant to the subject of beauty. There’s so much to say about each of them that here I will limit myself to their relation to the subject at hand – what you can do to bring out the beauty that is already inside and show it to the world.
In my mind, I am adressing myself more to women, but men have the right to take care of their appearance too (in fact, women like it when they do), so I officially extend a hearty welcome to you guys, too!
Haha. I woke up down today. Youve cheeerd me up!
